Take a classic epic poem, known and loved the world over.
Add a small hairy dog.
Re-write the poem, centering it on a first person narrative from the dog's point of view.
Find a publisher who shares your vision.
This last step is the bit that we thought would be difficult — but as you can see from some of these books here, not all publishing companies are bothered by insignificant little things like making a profit.
So, we thought it's about time some other great literary classics were updated for the four-legged reading public.
Here are some suggestions for those budding writers out there, who perhaps need a little inspiration.
