Ah, the worker bees, hard at work. Check out our stores and the guys who make it all happen...

Bob and Judith caught on the hop and looking quite dashing.

Moo (obviously hard at work) being driven up the wall by the books that won't fit on the shelves at Arty Bees in Manners Street...
|

New aprons - Ermm...
I guess there's no reason not to do some work now.

Rebecca,
and a monster book.

The Christmas Bowling party 2006 with all of us in one place at the same time! (Well almost, Bob & Judith were away, and Bronnie is hiding...

David went on to promptly beat every one of us at bowling.

David, and Rebecca (aka Sparrow) looking in awe at Imogen's astounding bowling technique.
Imogen did not go on to beat all of us at bowling. |
On January 20th 2007Arty Bees had our first staff wedding as Joe and Bern got hitched. While we were all thrilled for them, some of our customers must have received a slight shock as we closed the doors at 2pm on a (mostly) sunny Saturday afternoon so we could all go to the wedding.
Needless to say the bride looked beautiful, and the groom remembered to say 'I do' at all the right moments. |

Hmmmm, closed, how strange!
|
Our Tim.
He has such an honest face that he was the perfect choice for our public service short documentary
"Stealing Books is Bad".
|

Robynne in a bee suit. Thank you Pippa.
Actually, this was the 2005 Christmas party at One Red Dog - the scene of yet another Secret Santa Bee-related act of sedition against the BGH.

One of the many celebrities who grace our aisles, Fidel Castro stopped by to catch up on some essential reading.
As Arty Bees is a strictly No Smoking area, Mr Castro was obliged to have a chocolate waffle stick instead of his customary cigar, but he said he actually enjoyed it much more than a cigar.
In fact he claimed he was going to immediately impose a cigar ban and an enforced chocolate consumption law on the good citizens of his native land. Viva la revolution indeed! |

This is Min, of Henry and Min fame, catching up on some Shakespeare at home with Hamish and family.

Matthew in his signature pose for New Zealand's Next Top Model, wearing a dashing Pirate shirt and this season's latest fashion in winter beards.
And yes, he
has been playing with his iron-on transfers again.
|
Sparrow, aka Bex or Twitchy wonders if the constant bobbing of the bee antennae drove Matt into a state of hyper activity that resulted in THAT shirt.... |
Rachel aslo wonders if the antennae drove Matt to madness and is pretty sure her answer is "yes"
She also has concerns about other staff members but out of politeness won't name names.

Another celebrity commonly seen around Arty Bees in Manners Street.
He will happily sign autographs (don't expect to be able to read them though, as I believe they have what is commonly known as "artistic character") but he is a bit deaf in one ear so you may need to yell...
|
Sparrow and her lovely man Matthew - As apparently there are only 4 or 5 male names allowed in association with Arty Bees (we have Davids and Matthews coming out our ears...) we have had to rename Matt, "Matthew Senior" or "Big and Beardy" and Matthew (above) "Matthew Junior" or more commonly "Matt-Pants".
Just don't ask....
