ARTY BEES BOOKS NEWSLETTER

19 February 04

The New Year has come and gone and we are well into February already! Both shops have been very busy dealing with the new stock that has been arriving by the box load! Consequently there are a lot of exciting new books on the shelves…

Both shops have new Science titles, particularly in the areas of Maths, Physics and Meteorology. Bizy Bee's has some great new Classics — a lot of hard-to-find titles in Latin and Greek and a few in Sanskrit. The Sheet Music at Arty Bee's has been newly sorted and new stock is being shelved weekly as we work through the backlog.

The Children’s section at Bizy Bee's has been rearranged to make it easier to find things and we have a great range of children’s titles at both shops, including Children’s Classics. A lot of new stock has arrived since November. We have a good stock of Harry Potter and Enid Blyton’s books at present!

Arty Bees has had a great “change-around” of the downstairs area to give us more room for Modern Literature and Detective novels. This has led to the sad demise of the Historical Novel section although the popular authors are now residing in General Fiction, Modern Literature or Old Novels — ask if you need help to find them. This does mean that we now have room for our HUGE RANGE of fabulous detective and modern literature on the shelves.

The new Science Fiction and Detective novels at Bizy Bee's are continuing to sell well and we are continually adding new stock. This week we have received some Jennifer Roberson novels. If there are any fab authors you have read and find hard to get, let us know and we may be able to help.

Pippa continues to plug away on the computer entering the older and rarer titles into the database. The plan is to have these available on our website (and Abe Books) before too long! In Robynne’s words, “Poor Pippa is chained to the computer like a medieval monk. Rationing and whipping will occur soon if she is not done.” Help me someone… anyone?!!

No gossip on the staff front this month – we are a boring lot!

Until next time…

Pippa
