This book is a very special gardening collaboration between photographer Gil Hanly and well known garden writers, Diana Anthony and Julian Matthews. The first half, previously published as A Book of Gardens, is a design source book full of innovative ideas for New Zealand gardeners. A huge range of garden styles is presented, and extended captions describe the photographs and plants in them in detail. The second half of the book was previously published as New Zealand Town and Country Gardens, a gardening classic that travels the country, through all seasons, to capture the beauty of over 50 gardens at their most magnificent. The accompanying text looks at the gardeners behind the gardens, and their motivation to create these inspiring places.
