'There is no reason why I should write a book on this city more than anyone else who knows Wellington - it's just that I love the place and am lucky enough to be its Mayor' - writes Michael Fowler in the introduction to WELLINGTON, WELLINGTON...
Throughout the book, his enthusiasm for his city shines through, beginning with his account of its founding in 1840, right through to the building of the new Town Hall in 1981.
