"The Mixer" (Harry Kirk)

Kirk, whose photo adorns the cover, was a waterside worker based at Greymouth in the early 20th century. He wrote and performed many songs about the lives of working people, often with a satirical edge. A staunch unionist, he was for a time secretary of the Greymouth Watersiders' Union." Teara.govt.nz
