On 20 April 1843 Garibaldi's Red-Shirts were born in Montevideo, Uruguay. In May 1915 they died in France, in the forests of the Argonne. During those 70 years the Garibaldini fought, in the name of Liberty, throughout half the world. They were active above all in Italy, where they made a fundamental contribution to the birth of the nation.
