Here is the life story of Father Osmund Victor, C. R., one of the pioneers of the Anglican Church in South Africa, and among the best-known and best-loved priests of the twentieth century. On his arrival in Africa Father Victor took to his new life with vigour and verve, which was to remain with him all his life, and his early experiences, adventures and encounters are told, often in his own words, with irresistible humour. Then came the great war in which he served honourably. Back to Africa and continuing his work building up the church. Later he became Dean of the Cathedral of Salisbury and his fame and influence spread over Rhodesia.
