This book is the first history of its kind to be published in Hawke's Bay. It has been produced by St Columba's Presbyterian Church, Havelock North, to mark its 125th anniversary.

The oral history contributions are from senior members of the parish who give personal accounts of experiences covering social conditions and technologies of times reaching back to the early 1900s.
