A 1948 brick Owaka maternity home baby, Fergus Collinson has painted more or less full-time for some 20 years. He has a loyal following and has had many exhibitions; his work appears in private, public and corporate collections. Often described as a jazz painter, Fergus paints to the sound of swing era jazz and his writing rattles to a bebop beat. His painting process comes together with passion, reflection and bubbling, exuberant poetry. This book is an extension of the diaries Fergus creates for his exhibitions - words, drawings and paintings coalescing in an uncompromising autobiographical journey.
