Joseph Denieffe was an enboy sent by the Irish revolutionary leaders in New York to Ireland to establish a link with revolutionary leaders in Ireland. With Stephens, Luby, Langan and Garret O'Shaughnessy, he took the oath of allegiance to the Irish Republic.
