This book contains lists of specifications, three-views, cutaways and colour illustrations, as well as the historical and mechanical details of aircraft which shrunk the world within 50 years. The early airliners, beginning with the Humber-Sommer, which first flew in 1910, and the Ford and Fokker tri-motors, the legendary DC-3 and its partner the Ju-52. WW2 bombers were converted to passenger aircraft after the war, much as WW1 bombers had been in 1918. For instance, the versatile DH.38 Mosquito was used for high-speed passenger flights between Sweden and Scotland.
