Grassroots Kiwis celebrates the real people in the provincial heartland of New Zealand, those Kiwis who are unique to this country demonstrating a style and character that says, 'this is us'. Kevyn Male, sportsman, photographer, raconteur, traveller has toured provincial New Zealand finding, chatting to and photographing some of the people who live in these communities. The 150 everyday New Zealanders chosen for this collection capture the true spirit of the land in which we live. There are 'tough buggers', a few sheilas, publicans, artists, sports people and many other characters. A mini-biography accompanying each photograph describes their work, their play and more often than not, their involvement in community projects.
