Although Mount Roskill did not achieve borough status until the late 1940s it was at that stage a well established suburb of Auckland city. By the 1980s the borough population exceeded 33,000 --- an example of the explosive growth greater Auckland was experiencing, and continues to do so. This illustrated history progresses from the early days of European settlement in the 1800s, using photographs from many sources, including family collections.
